JUL 8 (WED) ARRIVE KRAKOW (WELCOME DRINK)
Arrive Krakow and transfer to our hotel. (Transfer included only if time coincides with group arrival)
In the evening – join us for a casual get-together to meet the group.
JUL 9 (THU) KRAKOW (BREAKFAST, WELCOME DINNER)
Our morning walking tour of Krakow will get you acquainted with this lovely medieval town. We visit Wawel Hill, Florianska Gate, and the Barbican. This 13th-century merchants' town has Europe's largest Market Square, with the Cloth Hall as its centrepiece as well as St. Mary’s Church. We end the tour in the square and you are free to enjoy exploring Krakow at your own pace.
In the evening we will meet again for our welcome dinner at a local restaurant.
JUL 10 (FRI) KRAKOW – BOCHNIA – KRAKOW (BREAKFAST, LUNCH )
Today we will visit the oldest Salt Mine in Poland, dating back to 1248! Bochnia Salt Mine lies east of Krakow and is a UNESCO site.
After our visit we will stop for lunch. Return to hotel and the rest of the day at leisure.
JUL 11 (SAT) KRAKOW - DUNAJEC RIVER RAFTING EXPERIENCE - ZAKOPANE (BREAKFAST, LUNCH)
Today we leave Krakow and start our journey south. In approximately 2 hours we reach the starting point for our rafting experience on the Dunajec River (weather permitting). Winding leisurely through the spectacular scenery of the Pieniny National Park we will be zig-zagging back and forth across the Polish and Slovak border. Lunch at a local inn and then we continue our drive to Zakopane.
After checking in to our hotel the rest of the evening is free.
JUL 12 (SUN) ZAKOPANE (BREAKFAST,DINNER WITH FOLKLORE)
After breakfast see the highlights of Zakopane including the wooden chapel at Jaszczurowka, the ski-jump hill, and the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima. Our tour will end with a cable car (funicular) ride to the top of Gubalowka Mountain for a great view of the Tatra Mountains. After descending from Gubalowka you have free time to shop the colorful open market place where you will find leather goods, sheepskin items, local cheese, and all kinds of wonderful gifts and souvenirs for yourself and for friends at home.
Dinner at a Highlander Inn with live entertainment.
JUL 13 (MON) ZAKOPANE – KOSICE – BUDAPEST (BREAKFAST)
Departure from Zakopane after breakfast . We will stop in Kosice for a short visit of this 13th century medieval town in eastern Slovakia . A brief walking tour of the old town free time to explore or grab some lunch before we continue to Budapest for an early evening arrival . Rest of the evening to relax or enjoy a late evening cruise on the Danube (optional $)
JUL 14 (TUE) BUDAPEST (BREAKFAST, DINNER WITH FOLKSHOW)
Today’s tour of Budapest will include: Heroes Square, Millenary Monument, Vajdahunyad Castle, Andrássy Boulevard, Basilica, view from Gellért Hill, Castle district, Matthias Church and Fishermen's Bastion. We will also make a stop at the Great Market Hall of Budapest, named one of the 5 best markets in Europe! The Market was built in the 18th century and after being badly damaged in WWII was extensively restored in the mid 1990’s to become one of Budapest’s greatest attractions. Enjoy strolling through the stalls filled with fresh produce, spices, as well as Hungarian arts and crafts - a great place to pick up souvenirs to take back home!
In the evening we drive to the outskirts of Budapest for dinner with a colorful folklore show in a traditional "csárda" atmosphere.
JUL 15 (WED) BUDAPEST – BRATISLAVA – VIENNA (BREAKFAST)
A short drive to Bratislava where we meet our local guide for a walking tour of the old town. Free time for lunch before we continue to Vienna. Check into our hotel and then the rest of the day is free.
JUL 16 (THU) VIENNA (BREAKFAST, LUNCH)
After breakfast we meet our guide to discover the magical city of Vienna by bus and by foot. Highlights include a tour of the Schönbrunn Palace which was the summer residence of the Habsburg family. Then a drive along the Ringstrasse to see the historical sights such as the State Opera House, the National Museum, the Imperial Palace, the Parliament, the City Hall and finally St. Stephen’s Cathedral and Kartner Strasse, the famous pedestrian shopping street in center of Vienna.
We will take a break for lunch and after the tour is complete we will return to our hotel and the rest of the day is free.
JUL 17 (FRI) VIENNA (BREAKFAST, DINNER WITH ENTERTAINMENT)
Enjoy the day at your pace to further explore one of the many Museums, shop, or relax and enjoy a coffee or lunch at a Viennese Café. In the evening we will drive to the wine-growing hills on the outskirts of Vienna for overnight and to enjoy dinner at a typical “heuriger” (local wine tavern).
JUL 18 (SAT) VIENNA – BRNO – PRAGUE (BREAKFAST )
Early morning departure from Vienna to Prague. We make a stop in Brno, for a walking tour of the old town followed by some free time for lunch. Continue to Prague for overnight .
JUL 19 (SUN) PRAGUE (BREAKFAST, DINNER WITH FOLKSHOW)
Today we start the tour by bus for a panoramic view of the highlights of Prague such as the Republic Square (Namesti Republiky), Wenceslas Square ( Vaclavske Namesti ), National Theatre, the Prague Castle (UNESCO site) and the Charles Bridge. From here we will walk to the Old Town Square with its famous landmarks such as the Church of Our Lady before Tyn, and the unique Astronomical Clock from the year 1410. We will end our tour at the old town so that you can enjoy the rest of the afternoon at your leisure. Dinner tonight at a local restaurant with traditional folklore.
JUL 20 (MON) PRAGUE (BREAKFAST, FAREWELL DINNER)
Enjoy your last day at leisure or exploring at your own pace.
In the evening we will meet for our farewell dinner in the old town .
JUL 21 (TUE) PRAGUE – END OF TOUR (BREAKFAST)
